Oromo Translator is an English ↔ Oromo translation application. This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the app.
Oromo Translator processes text that you enter for translation. Translation text is transmitted to our server and translation service providers as necessary to provide translation results.
If you use the voice input feature, the app processes an audio recording of your speech so that it can be converted into text. Audio is transmitted to our server and speech-processing service provider to perform speech-to-text transcription.
When you use text-to-speech features, text may be transmitted to our server and speech service provider in order to generate audio playback.
Information processed by Oromo Translator is used to provide the app's translation, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech functionality, as well as to operate and improve the reliability of those features.
Oromo Translator uses third-party services to provide translation and speech features. Text submitted for translation may be sent to Google Cloud Translation to generate a translation. Oromo voice recordings may be sent to Addis AI to convert speech into text, and Oromo text may be sent to Addis AI to generate spoken audio. Information is shared with these services only as necessary to provide the corresponding feature. We require third-party service providers that process user data on our behalf to provide the same or equal protection of user data as described in this Privacy Policy
Before text or voice data is sent to third-party services, Oromo Translator asks for your permission. You may choose not to allow this data sharing. If you decline, features that require third-party processing will not send your text or voice data unless you later choose to allow it.

Some translation and text-to-speech results may be temporarily cached by our server to improve performance and reduce repeated processing. Voice recordings may also be temporarily processed on our server as part of speech-to-text functionality.
The current version of Oromo Translator does not require users to create an account and does not contain third-party advertising or advertising tracking.
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through Oromo Translator. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Oromo Translator does not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of creating user profiles or serving targeted advertising.
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Oromo Translator develops or as its features and services change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
